just use root explorer (I got the free version (2.10.2) here)

mount the system folder read/write (with root explorer) -> longpress the build.prop file in the system folder and choose to edit the file.

change the line:
ro.build.version.sdk=4
to: ro.build.version.sdk=8

reboot your IQ. Install the adobe acrobat x apk file and your good to go.

I realized that the method mentioned above enables us to install the "ezPDF reader" app into IQ, which is orginally designed for 2.1 or 2.2 OS.

The ezPDF reader is almost perfect, in my opinion. It supports a perfect tap-to-zoom function which makes the screen width fit well with text parts. Moreover, it also supports a book-like page turning. It looks really nice

But, with large sized PDFs it's quite slow as it's not designed for 2.0 OS.

PS. One more function I forgot to mention.. It supports 'night mode' reading in PDF.

Guys, thank you very much. I got it to work using the hack described. RezzZ, thank you for the clear instructions. My PDFs now display significantly better than with the built-in PDF reader on the IQ. I can definitely live with the slow loading and page turning of PDF files of large size as long as they display correctly. This hack just made my IQ much more usable. Happy Holidays, everyone.
