Hello, Buggins, thank you for taking the time to post here. I really appreciate CoolReader and use it all the time with my other files, which is why the way it handles .txt is such a problem.

The thing is, all my .txt files are treated the same way. They're mostly fanfiction posted on LJ and DW, and saved as a text file. Some are 100 word drabbles, others are 15,000 words serials. Some of them mark chapters as *Chapter*, _Chapter_, - Chapter - or have scene breaks marked with *** or --- or +++ on a new line, and others are just plain text, no special formatting or line breaks. They often contain short lines of dialog, which might be what CoolReader recognizes as a chapter title. That is a problem, since it means that I often encounter pages with two-three lines, the first of which is bolded.

I cannot post the files here, as I'd be archiving them on a public website which is not done without asking first, but I can upload them to box.net and send the link in a PM, if that's alright.

A damsel in distress! That phrase reminds me of a certain fictional Old West gambler/con woman extricating herself from an unpleasant situation.

Joking aside, the headings still distress me, but I hope that will become a thing of the past. I like my fanfic, some of it is quite good, some is just plain fun, and some is not all that great, but I have fond memories associated with it. I want to read it when I take a break from marking exams.

Please try latest version from Market. There were a lot of fixes in TXT format autodetection.
If some files still formatted incorrectly, please upload them and send me a link.
I'll try to improve format detection heuristics.

You sent me the latest version in a PM when we discussed various txt settings, and it's working perfectly. I am very happy with it and very grateful you took the time to fix these issues.

I can't access the Market from the IQ unless I root the device and I don't feel comfortable doing so, so I will occasionally check Sourceforge for latest versions. I'm keeping the cr3.0.39-23 version, just in case.
