With the inestimable help of my frolicking felines, I finally wrapped the presents and put them out on the hearth [3 cats = no tree ... tried it once ... never again]
Sammy is now trying to chew off all the name tags, after she helped put them on [she has a tape fetish].
If I ever put fresh batteries in the camera I'll post a photo of these presents - lumpily encased in torn & wrinkled paper liberally taped and strewn with cat hairs.
I need a stiff drink now!

Phone pic? Shoot, if I counted on being able to even FIND my camera I never would post a picture!

We're home. Absolutely SUBLIME evening. The theatre Jim Brickman was playing at is small, but absolutely gorgeously decorated. http://www.paramountarts.com/abouthistory.php

It's also on an island in the middle of a river, which I didn't know (and can't say I was too thrilled about when I found out!).

As a bonus, instead of one of the scheduled singers, they had Richie McDonald, formerly of the band Lonestar (Amazed, I'm Already There, Mr. Mom). Along with Jim's usual partner in crime, Ann Cochran and Mr. Electric Violin, Tracy Silverman. http://www.tracysilverman.com/

I got a tour shirt, plus the souvenir program, plus a card worth 20 Christmas song downloads. (the program and download card were freebies).

Packing, or rather, repacking. Needed a bigger bag so my pillow would also fit in it.

I'm going to look after the cat and dog of friends. The plan was to go home on both Christmas and Boxing day after the afternoon dog walk. But she has problems with one of her back legs again. The medicine she got is working but she needs to pee a lot because of them. New plan is only to go home for Christmas dinner tomorrow.

I can't think of anything nicer than spending your Christmas with animals It sure beats spending it with some of the grumpy relatives we've got

Some work on Christmasdinner so I can just pop everything in the oven tomorrow, search things to lay the Christmastable with, peel patotoes, feed the birds outside, keep the cat from munching my cooking, get my daughter to do some last minute shopping through the snow ("you can have some hot chocolate and a sandwich on me at the mall"),etc. Will pay my bills; don't like to go into the holidays with outstanding debts.
We don't have much family left, so it will be an intimate and cheerfull gathering.

Fingers crossed!!! Most of mine all live in the same town as us so we would literally have to have snow blocking the door before we could try that excuse

I made it this morning, but I didn't have time to taste it until now. Nice, moist, not too sweet.

Damn, I knew I shoulda invested in Pork Bellies this year...

Just back from the market and picked up the tiniest and most forlorn looking ham you ever saw ... barely enough for three of us and it was $30! Holey Moley!
