Same here. I can almost always remember the words that I look up.

Not me! That's why I like the word log. I can review the words a second time. If I see them in a list with definitions like the log is formatted, then it sticks in my memory much better.

if you encountered 3 new words in the whole novel then your method would be ok, but you cannot memorize 100 new words in that way.
Most of your vocabulary was built by writing new words where you were pupil.

Vive le difference.

I don't mean to brag but I've been told I have a good memory for language. Now if only I could remember my wedding anniversary.

In my reading, I don't run across that many words I don't know. Three at most would be a lot per book. Moreover, they're often obscure words I'm not likely to run across again, nor actively use. I can usually infer, or deduce, the meaning, but it's nice to have the dictionary available.

My comment "why would anyone need to do that?" came about as I have tried in reading foreign language novels to keep lists of new words, but I wasn't able to stick with it. So, keeping a log list of dictionary words looked up wouldn't mean much based on the way I process information.

I returned mine, despite getting it for $249 and using a 10% coupon from BB. Just too expensive considering the lack of content and other nuances (i.e. lack of accessories, 3g restrictions, battery life, long term hopes, etc).

I've just sided with my refurb Nook and 3g Kindle.

I'm set for the next few years, easily.

I don't the look and feature of all Sony reader. may be because I dislike touch screen technology so much.
I have seen the Sony PRS650 it looks so feminine so flimsy like a makeup box, the colors are horrible both of them.
I willing to buy either Kindle 3 or pocketbook 360.

This is one of those times I wish there were an "un-karma" button.

May I enquire why, if you have such a dislike of Sony readers, why you bother reading and commenting in a section of the forum dedicated to said disliked Sonys? Please note I'm not commenting on your opinions. choices etc as we're all entitled to our own but I'm just curious as to why you waste your time on something that seems to have no relevance to your personal usages and choices...

Sony Readers have a lot to be left to be desired, but looks aren't one of them. Unless you prefer cheap mass market plastic slabs over aluminium trim on aluminum frame.

Sony devices get constant attention from it's looks in any crowd.

And I definitely agree with you there, I regularly get asked about mine when having a coffee and reading...

Greenhat probably doesn't have a PRS device, this is evidenced by his quote "I have seen the Sony PRS650". it certain suggests he doesn't have a device, so his opinion on the PRS features can be taken with a grain of salt
