If a Tin whistle is made of tin, what's a Fog horn made of?
I have several different recorders and some Japanese shakuhachi. I love the sound of the pentatonic scale that the shakuhachi play in. You can play with them for hours, ever knowing any real music score. Very 'Zen' sounding. Complete antithesis of the heavy drum/fast bagpipes for battle. Speaking of which, as I'll be out of town, can you please take some pictures of KK painted blue brandishing her battle ax and claymore. I'd hate to miss that. Thank you very much. Stitchawl |

I just tried to sync my iPhone using iTunes and it wiped out everything in my phone! Gone. All my music. All my contacts. All my speed dials. All my new apps. Everything! Dammit.
![]() Not a total loss as everything is backed up on my computer somewhere, but it's going to be a bother to re-install everything and get it set up the way I like. Stitchawl |

Do you guys remember the conversation we had going here a couple of days ago about bystanders not being helpful, and I said that for the most part people around here are helpful? Well, this afternoon when I rolled my big over-filled garbage can to the curb, I accidentally turned it over in the street when I bumped off the curb unevenly. As I tried to brace the wheels so I could pull it upright again, two strange men sitting on a porch across the street actually stood up and asked if I needed some help getting it upright again. Just about that time I got the angle right and was able to get it back up, so I told them I had it but thanks anyway. Still, though, I appreciated the offer.

Erm, well...it sounds more like swing than lounge to me; his "Smoke On The Water" cover sounded like the theme to a detective noir story. Must be the horns. In my case (partially due to age) it's easy to ignore that it's Pat Boone because I was never a regular listener of his anyway, and my definition of "lounge" involves something much less charitable than what Boone does here (think Bill Murray's character on SNL). I lived in Vegas for a few years and I've heard what atrocities can be committed by a lounge singer attempting hard rock or metal. |
