These days few of us can even agree on what metal "is" anymore; respect the elders or go straight for the Cookie-Monster vocals? Death and mayhem, dungeons and dragons, or beer and bongs? It's all about whatever a record label calls it anymore; yesterday's heavy metal is today's hard rock, and yesterday's hard rock is today's classic rock. |

I want to bash my husband over the head and take away his computer and phone! He has been chatting with old high school friends online, and I just found out the other day that one person in particular has gotten texts that I thought he would only say to me. He called it 'light flirting', but I countered that he lied about it, so he knew it was wrong.
Don't get me wrong, he is very sorry for what he did, and for breaking my trust. He apologized for hurting me and said that things just got out of hand quickly. He has since broken off contact and has been subdued for the last few days, very ashamed. He would never physically cheat on me, but started this out thinking to keep things light (which I wouldn't have had a problem with). Me? I want to call the slut up and threaten her, since she sent nude photos of herself. She lives up north somewhere, and I don't really care where, as long as she stays where she is. I really trust my husband, but this just made me mad and hurt. I'll give it a few more days before I decide to get over it and let him finally succeed in making it up to me. Christmas presents should be good, though. |

I have to edit what I said before about not being able to dance to the bagpipe music. What I should have said was that "I" can't dance to it. Everybody else seems to do just fine.
I tried listening to some of the Peatbog Fairies YouTube videos and I think I prefer a more traditional sound. Seemed to me that a lot of their pieces sounded like 'bagpipe heavy metal.' ![]() I'm probably just getting old... Stitchawl |

I also heard where the bagpipe part bore more than a passing resemblance to an electric guitar. Definitely not traditional but hey, if it gets more people interested it can't be a bad thing. |

What I don't get is the "I decide" part. I mean - you either forgive someone, or you don't. Or you need "some time" to forgive. But you don't "decide to get over it" on December 24th, so he get's the message. He got it in with the first shouts (if there were any). If I were him and I read the post here I would get really mad, because of the phrasing. For me it implies that you have actually gotten over it, but now you just keep on rubbing it in, so the message gets clearer. Which sounds just mean. ![]() I do hope I'm misinterpreting the phrasing. ![]() |

I think you could read that as "... before I decide to tell him I've gotten over it...". Or think of it as her husband is in time out.

When I was a child my parents were wonderful about giving me lessons in anything I wanted to learn (and some that I didn't.) Riding, drums, skiing, fencing, shooting, archery, leather crafting, swimming, golf, guitar, ballroom dancing, etc., etc, as well as extra tutors for school subjects. But there was one, and only one lesson that they absolutely refused me; bagpipes.
![]() When I finally moved out of the house, one of the first things I did was buy a bagpipe practice chanter. I won't pretend that I really 'learned' to play, but I did have a great time playing with it and could hammer out a few simple tunes. I was advised by friends to stick to the guitar. ![]() Stitchawl |

Actually, it was a case of I allowed myself to get furious, yelled at him, then felt better. We had it out last night after I posted, and I feel much better.
The 'I decide' part was I knew I would get over being hurt and mad, but I was dwelling on it too much to allow myself to feel better. I HADN'T forgiven him at that point, so I wasn't just rubbing it in. As I told him, even if I trust him to not take things further, it takes a little time to rebuild the trust he broke. Anyone heard the country song that says "I just want to be mad for a while"? That's how I felt, but realized it was hurting me more than him. So I yelled, he argued back, I argued some more, then we both felt better (at least I did, I think he did, too). I don't care if he talks to her now, as long as he doesn't erase evidence and will show me what was said if I ask. |
