Good luck with your tests. What are you studying? Remember, tea is brain food.

And now on with my second cup of Assam tea. Busy day today. Lots of last minute shopping to do, packing, re-charging my reader for the trip, confirming flights. Speaking of which, I am simply blown away by 'Expedia.com' travel services and their new iPhone app. I can even check departure times, my seat assignments, and departure gate changes in real time, right from my phone. With a push of a button (or touch to the screen) connect to the information desks, phone my hotels for shuttle service, and even get a map with street routing from the airport to my final hotel, and more, all without leaving the iPhone app. Every single bit of trip information and trip needs all in one place. We've come a long way, baby! Talk about convenience! Wow!

I whole-heartedly agree -- I LOVE the apps on my Android phone. But...don't you think you're tempting fate just a little bit by bragging on how smoothly that's supposed to go? Shouldn't you wait until you make sure the departure time is accurate, you actually are assigned a seat, the shuttle shows up for the hotel, and the online map doesn't dump you in the ocean? Just sayin'...

"PMA" Betty, PMA!

With a Positive Mental Attitude, everything goes well. If, for some reason, there is some departure from the planned event, it's only to allow something better to occur.

If we are hijacked to Somefunistan, just think of the adventure awaiting us! Meeting new people. Living in a very different sort of housing than ever experienced before. Perhaps experiencing the very same fear one would get from those new super roller coasters and, and, get this part, and... not even having to stand in long lines at the amusement park! Now, could it get any better than that?!? Betty, ya gotta have some PMA!

This session was Employment Law and Labor Relations, and Human Resources Information Systems. I'm in the middle of a Bachelor's degree program for Human Resources management.
Finals are done, don't know how I did on one of them yet, but I'm hoping for a high B or a low A out of both classes.

Now I've got a break til Jan. 12th, when I start on Compensation & Benefits and Statistics. Neither of which I'm looking forward to, exactly. Out of all of it, I've enjoyed my law classes the most.

I have wonderful memories of my Labor Relations class! Did mine in Grad school as part of a double MBA/MPA program. I had a teacher who had been an arbitrator of mining company disputes, and our class activities often saw shoes banging on tables, labor screaming at management while jumping on chairs. VERY realistic and some times scary! As the prof said, these folks were fighting for money to feed their families, not to join country clubs. I had the same prof for Business Law and he made that class come alive too. Best teacher I've ever had!

Human Resource Management is a wonderful field. I did a thesis for one of my graduate degrees on Herzberg's motivation theory to see if it would apply to non-service industries. (It doesn't .) Herzberg is the guy who gave us the term 'kita' for motivation.
