Lots of snow, and everything looks like a fairyland.

I went to bring some shopping to mother-in-law+ Christmas spirit; no glühwein though.

Difficult week, but still going strong on 92 years + operated hip.

Am going for a long walk through this fairyland.

Thanks for the compliment. I just love that mill, especially when it turns its sails.
The St.Anna-Mill was build in 1848/9 and grinds grain every week. A lot of folks come and get their weekly supply of flour. The miller sells all kind of different bread-mixes: tomatobread, pumpkin, corn and such.
Sometimes I bake my own bread as well from that flour. Some people just won't eat any other bread than the one from the St. Anna-mill. Bakers nearby bake a St Anna-bread; dark bread with on top of it a thin layer of flour in which they stamp a little mill.

Here it is again (bit proud of it.)

I've resigned myself to the fact that I will not see bare ground again until April (possibly late March, IF we get lucky). Farking winter in the Midwest...

We're not technically tropical, but, yes, summer storms like this repeatedly is not unusual. I think they're saying La Nina is likely to give us more storms this summer. Flashy-crashy afternoon storms without temperature relief is part of what makes living here so grand. Not to say they're not a worry, but less so generally than intense tropical low systems and tropical cyclones. Just don't go swimming or playing golf in them.

Having sat through a few cyclones, I would think some of these sub-tropical storms can be more intense, but shorter in duration. They tend to clobber you real hard then go out to sea within half a day.

Cyclones tend to hang around for a long time, and even stay over you for days. The good thing about cyclones is you tend to get a lot more warning as they are easier to track.

Today's forecast is for 31C, showers with possible storm, though it's fairly sunny and 28C at the moment (well, at 9am it was). Tomorrow is pretty much the same, but 28C forecast. May go for another ride, or a walk, later.
