Tried that..
But SDK doesn't install properly on 64-Bit windows - known issue with Vista. I'm looking for a more creative solution or alternate way.

looks like there are several posts on the internet about getting the sdk installed properly on vista 64bit. Check them out and see if they're helpful. Here's a couple but there's more if you google it.

If you are brave enough to hack your NC, running Ubuntu from CD is a piece of cake! ![]() Most of the tool and stuff you need to hack NC or any other device, are already part of the Linux operating system. "dd" command is one of those, which clones partitions. But you will love Ubuntu for sure and you probably install as dual boot or forget about crappy Windows Os, lol ... Understood, and when you do get it to work on your Nook Color, I'd love to get a copy of the instructions so I can do the same. In fact, Id love for Christmas to come so I can unwrap my NC. Guess I'm stuck with my EZ Reader for a few more days.

I just noticed that I cannot open/read the children books on my Nook Color anymore? Has anyone noticed this after rooting?
That was one of the features that my wife thought was cool enough for me to spend the money on a NEW nook color. Now after hacking it does not seem to work! Uh-Oh!! Do I need to go back to stock and re-root? Can anyone else (who rooted their nookcolor) please check if you children book reader app still works? |

Mine is rooted and the books still work from the Nook's home or via the Nook's Library.

Children books still work on mine. Try archiving and re-downloading them.

For those of you with rooted NCs, could you please indicate which launcher you are using and post a screenshot of it? There are quite a few out there, and it would be good to see what the options look like. Thanks!

![]() Its not working for me. I tried tried to archive and re-download but no luck. When I open a children's book, it goes to a black screen. Going to google search the problem on xda forums... |
