The page turning is fast, but the quality of letters is low.
As I understand (I am still on beta), you can change in FBReader settings to low speed - high quality. |

mtravellerh, or anybody!
When 902 is switched off, is it possible to switch it on by doing reset (in the hole)? I am afraid to switch it off, as my main on/off switch is no longer working. If I knew that I can revive it through the hole, I could let it switch itself off after 10 minutes of idling. Please, can somebody with 902 test this for me? Switch off your device, then press reset in the hole and keep it pressed for a couple of seconds to make sure. See if it boots or not. If the battery is low, better to have it charging at the time. There is no authorized PocketBook service anywhere close to me.
I see two tiny screws on the back, perhaps it is enough to unscrew them to get the upper side of the back cover removed and to take a better look at that switch. Perhaps I can fix what is wrong with it myself. Like soldering back one of its pins. Or putting back a spring that popped out. Of course, it might be mechanical and no easy way to take the switch apart or fix inside it if something is broken. In that case I might send it to be repaired eventually, perhaps next year when I already have the next 9xx model with Pearl or plastic screen.... If it turns out that reset is working for switching it on, and there is no requirement to switch the device off or on with the on/off button in the middle of firmware update, then there is no urgency. As I can get to the list of 10 last read books by a single click another way ![]() (update to 2.0.3 beta did not require on/off switch to be used, but update to 2.0.3 final is supposedly different and more complicated) Last edited by parkher; 12-16-2010 at 08:45 AM. |

mtravellerh,
Thanks. Another question: I am considering between CIS/EURO/NA firmwares. Are there differences in the available keyboard languages? I hear that CIS has 7 keyboard languages, but not sure which ones. EURO beta has only English, as far as I can tell - pressing on "EN" does nothing. Is it possible to add keyboard languages separately? Because it is possible that people may need keyboard languages from different firmware versions. I need: - English - French - German - Polish - Lithuanian - Russian And maybe some others. But if some of them are only available in Euro, and others - only in CIS (like Russian) - then what? BTW, mtravellerh, is PB360 really comfortable to read books? For hours at a time? Not too tiny? I heard that 360 (with its higher dpi) has a real book "page" versus a "screen" on 602, total perception of letters on real paper, when 602, in comparison (when side-by-side), looks more like a screen. Errm, no. Every available language has its own keyboard layout. So when u add a language or choose a language, you also change the keyboard layout. |

Hm, choosing language where?
I tried switching the interface language and still got only EN in the keyboard view. BTW, mtravellerh, is PB360 really comfortable to read books? For hours at a time? Not too tiny? What about the color of the device?
For such a small 5" screen, I would like it white (it is called ivory) so that the body (frame) could serve as an extension of margins. From the pictures it seems like its Ivory is not completely white and therefore its screen is still a bit whiter than the body? Because when the body is whiter than the screen, then it is not good. |
