Between Jersey Shore, Real Housewives and the Sopranos there is enough material to keep the comedians busy for years.

I agree, I feel more connected with people when I know a little bit about where they are coming from (both physically and whatever you call that other way, like "hey, I know where you're coming from!" ) However, I do know the location of most of the people that I interact with the most, just from multiple conversations and pm's.

I don't hide my location so much as get bored with what I've typed and come up with new and unique ways to say that. I also frequently change the way I describe my occupation. If you google my current location, you'll know where I live.

I know, it's an extra step and who wants to do that, right? But I get so darn bored saying the same thing over and over! I'm all about the change!

Do Santa surf the Hawaiian waves... Wouldn't mind spending Christmas some place warmer although it was considered mild today with only -9C (15.8 Farenheit)

Hmm, you should keep your high pressures! That way we'll have winter as well...

But I agree, we should visit GraceKrispy in our winter time! Always wanted to go to Hawaii... (and if I had finished my first study, I might have gone there too, to the observatory there...)

I don't believe anyone expects precise GPS coordinates. However, is revealing your country of residence too much to ask?

For me showing the location is a little bit of showing how glad/proud I am to live in this place!

So, we are all a little bit paranoid and try to hide as much as possible - but there is a quite numerous group of members here who show not only their location but their whole name: our writers. Has anyone of you ever experienced any disadvantages from doing so? (The advantages are quite easy to see!)

I am making a point with my location, one of my favorite book series is called Dragon Lance which takes place in a fantasy location called Kryn where the major city is called Palanthas. I am making a reference to my favorite book series.

Ha- I just realized I thought I had a different location written down! I was *so* cold this past Friday. 64F! Can you believe that chill factor?

(and, yes, Santa surfs...)

Ooh, yes, awesome observatory (I've heard) the reason all of our streetlights are this funny yellow color that looks an awful lot like a yellow stoplight....

Hmm, all our streetlights have the same colour as the yellow stoplight... Only the new lights are a bit more whitish (yet still yellow).

But yes, that light is easy to filter out as it only is a narrow bandwidth.

The Frappr Map-Service is no more, so Alexander deleted the link. If anyone has a good suggestion for an alternative - send him a PM.

It's easier to change a few words than move house or change jobs when you feel "bored."
