New firmware

When I go to Settings - About Devise, the Firmware version says "Eclair". Was this updated? I've heard people talk about Sam 4.0 but mine still says Sam 3.5.

Also I have a old machine at home. It will not read the SDHC cards (nothing over 2GB). Can I purchase a 32GB and copy from my 2GB to it using the USB port.

Glenda, I don't think your IQ is updated. In the About Device screen you should see Eclair (PB701.2.0.3), signifying you are running version 2.0.3 PocketBook firmware. Try reinstalling the firmware.

I have read the upgrade manual for the 902 and it only mentions the SD card. I don't have one. Can I upgrade copying the file SWUPDATE.BIN to the internal memory, as I did with the beta firmware or should I buy a card?

I've got no idea about the 902, but that's exactly what I did with the 360 when I first got it. It worked fine. I'd wait to hear what the reps say, though.

SD and SDHC cards are pretty cheap, though,

Thanks Rob. I finally got it to say the right thing, remembering to unzip after it didn't work right 1st try.

Now it Nook would work I would have everything I need other than figuring out how to get a new card reader in my machine to read the SDHC cards,

He didn't include a working nook, he said "Some of the other reading apps such as Nook for Android I haven’t able to get to work so aren’t included in this review. If I find a version that works on the IQ so I can test it I will add it to the list, along with other reading apps I find along the way. This list is far from complete so feel free to add more in the comments section."

Please add the following to the How To Update document

Add to the beginning:
1. Download the Firmware 2.0.3 Pocketbook IQ.

2. Using 7-Zip upzip the file downloaded.

add your steps 1-6

as part of #6
It should say "Eclair (PB701.2.0.3)"

7. When done delete userupdate091210_common_PB701SWUPDATE.zip from SD-card.

This would help on updating the firmware. I had to find it in two parts of the forum.

yeah the nook app is HUGE- its twice the size of GOOGLE MAPS!

looks like im going to have to find the right one again. the one i just tried did not work.


when we move to Android 2.1 it will work better because the app can be installed on the SD card instead of the internal memory.

I am trying to update an IQ and am having similar problems as a few of the previous posts. No update seems to occur. I have tried repetedly and I have tried downloading the file to the SDcard again. Any suggestions?

Do you get the Android progress bar graphic?
The changes aren't sledgehammer obvious...
(Check to see which File Manager you have; if it's OI File Manager, you have the Dec 10 release.
