Keef certainly is the man. Astounding how he and Mick have kept on writing, and kept coming up with fresh stuff. Most songwriters in the rock field are written out by the time they're 35 - 40. To have all that Moolah and still have motivation! My hat is off to them.

Yep - the love of music, and the desire to just keep creating great music was a really strong theme throughout the whole book.

Finished "1984" last night. Enjoyed it a lot. Gosh! such a depressing tale, can't touch a fiction for next one week. Planning to catch up on my certification course now.

Once you're qualified, you'll be ready to handle anything in the Brave New World. Right?

Will let you know after the course..!

Could not sleep the entire night after reading. Just wondering if anyone else had such an effect of this book?

It's so long ago that I read it, I really can't remember. I do remember reading them both around same time, though, then moving on from Aldous Huxley to read some of John Wyndham's books. So, maybe it's time that I read some of them again.

Addendum
Animal Farm is thought provoking, too, if you haven't already read it and want to stay with George Orwell.

Thanks for the recommendation, looks interesting read. I just added it to my TBR list.
I was going to try the Enders game next but looks like it can wait. I am completely new to sci-fi and wanted to complement Physics of the Impossible by Michio kaku with some fiction. But it can wait until I finish Animal Farm..

Yes, well, not the whole night. But, real good books can do that to you.

Nevertheless, you might still enjoy some of John Wyndham's books:

I find it strange that it has gotten such high ratings as it has on Amazon.

I'm comparing this book with Naomi Novik's Temeraire series which wins hands down.
I didn't finish any of her books...

Busy reading "Revelation Space" by Alastair Reynolds. I'm impressed by his writing and the story is very intricately woven. Can't wait to see how it ends.

I think it's a very different kind of book to the Temeraire series, which (from the one I've read so far) to be much more action/adventure (very much along Hornblower lines), while Dragon Keeper seems to be more an exploration of a world and its history.

I rather liked it, although I can see that for some it might have been a bit slow. As I read it in a couple of days I didn't mind the pacing.

I was rather cross to find that it's really the first half of one very long book, and that the second half isn't yet out in paperback. (i.e. the ebook version is still ridiculously expensive.) I will probably pick up the second half when it drops in price.
