Lost my Kindle 3 :( - Page 3

I called Amazon to report my Kindle lost/stolen and was told that the Kindle registered to my account has the name "Barry" (not sure about the spelling). At first, I was confused because my Kindle's name was different, and then realized that whoever has the Kindle now must have renamed it and then used the Internet, and the Amazon server was updated with the new name.

I really think this is such a negative action from the person that found your Kindle. They must have renamed it right away. I never do understand that kind of thing.

Well, I said goodbye to that Kindle. Maybe Santa will bring a replacement. I am making hints to my wife that my life is not complete without it

crappy if people keep things which are returnable to their posessors.

I'm usually pretty sensitive to sexism and prejudice, but for some reason, even though the word "hot" was in the post, I thought carbide08 was making a positive comment about kindlekitten's generosity towards her son, not a crude reference to her avatar. There are so many words that get misused these days, so I was giving him the benefit of the doubt. I must be losing it in my old age, or just getting way too tolerant.

Regarding "hot" - well, to be frank, I was wondering if "SANTA" might be taking the ferry anytime soon?!!!!!!!! Well, skin is probably easier to cleanse of chimney soot than a full red santa suit. (and using old "smilies: gd&r)

A Newfie - they probably charge full passenger fare for her. I know I have to pay extra for my bicycle and it does not weigh anything like that. (G)

I lost my Kindle 3 at the weekend. I went into a London pub for lunch with some friends. My Kindle was in an open shopping bag, but I didn't think it was the sort of thing to get pinched. I was wrong.

I called Amazon. They have blacklisted it and I've ordered another. I'll bear in mind that they are pinchable. I was in the middle of a couple of books, one fiction and one non-fiction and I am a bit peeved at the hiatus. I should get the new Kindle just before Xmas. Then I have to charge it up and reload it...Grrr!

So sorry about the lost Kindles and phone :-( I would be very sad if I lost mine (well, not so sad about the phone which is a cheap pay-go which whines when I don't top it up regularly)

Just an update, my wife gave me a K3 with the lighted cover for Christmas to replace the lost one.
