I used to build robots with my old Erector Set. I remember hiding behind the door one day to see if any visitors would be terrified by my two foot tall monstrosity.

Ah, those were the days! When an Erector Set came with enough pieces to really construct something, and a powerful 120 volt motor strong enough to chew up a finger! And chemistry sets with real chemicals! Kids today don't know what they're missing!

Wonderful memories! The Gilbert Erector Set! It took half a day to make a building with an elevator that actually went up and down, and another four days to take it apart and put away all the pieces! I remember dropping the container for the screws and nuts, scattering them all over the bedroom floor! Gazillions of teeny tiny screws everywhere!!
That's probably why some enterprising mother decided to invent Leggo. She was tired of picking up loose screws and nuts!

when I got my erector set I wasn't able to play with it for several days as my Dad and Uncle put together numerous things including a ferris wheel which I have a picture of!
