And the car adapter for the PSP does work. Both red light and lighting symbol. |

Especially nice since the PSP accessories are available for cheap.
Say, has anyone tried the USB PSP charger? It looks to me like a standard USB cable with a power tap on the other end, so maybe it will actually work, if someone has one handy and can give it a try.... ![]() |

Anyone have any insight into this question w.r.t. the 505? Which is meant to be more standard for USB charging?

A workaround
I bought a very inexpensive PSP cable that has a USB connector at one end that plugs into a standard USB charger. The other end has two connectors: a mini USB connector (not used for the Reader charging) and a PSP/Reader compatible power plug that is used to deliver the juice to the Reader via the Reader power connector. The purists will note that this is not using the Reader USB port for charging but it does allow me to use USB wall charging module to charge my Reader, Blackberry, and so forth. Same result.

This PSP charge/data cable will charge from any pc or other usb charging source (incl. usb wallworts and car chargers). Plus the mini-usb can be used to transfer books to the Reader as well. I'm not sure exactly why or when, but often attempting to charge via mini-usb on a PC w/o the Library sw can DRAIN the Reader's battery. Do so at your own risk. Besides, charging via the power socket (and not the mini-usb) is faster. And far more reliable. |
