Good morning, all! I think I'm awake now. Half a mug of Yorkshire tea down and my eyes are beginning to open.

So much goes on here while I'm asleep! This is a wonderfully active group, but I missed so much!

I missed;
ProfCrash's boobs. (I vote 'yes!')
Pooh's spider bites (I swell up like a balloon! Allergic reaction!)
Betty's Bento (we say O-bento as in 'Honorable Lunchbox!)
Beppe's good health regime. (I'm jealous! How do you find the self-discipline?)
DesertBlues (Americans don't know what their missing with the movie star advertisements! Did you get Sylvester Stallone selling little wieners? )
Astra... all spiders bite if you upset them. But their bit is so painless most people only know that they've been bitten if there is poisonous venom involved. If you see a bite mark with two tiny holes about a millimeter apart, that's a spider bite!
Bookmark, what's a double double?
KK, camping on tropical sand is fun. Camping on desert sand is a bummer. Camping inside a Hilton hotel room is best.

... and now it's time to brew another cup. I think it will be the last of the Fortnum&Mason Royal Blend. I'll have to make a run into Osaka and try and find some more!

Hi. the bold is mine. Nice post. I share the surprise for all that went on on this thread while we (you and me, we left astra all alone by himself) just turned our head.

The self discipline for stopping inhaling combusted particles of tobacco and paper, comes from a very simple and easily obtainable motivation.

She is so pretty, so intelligent, so elegant, so tender and so ... interested?
She has been also so kind to tell me that she would not be available in kissing an ashtray.

Often the best motivation is right beside us!
Having myself stopped 12 years ago (after 43 years of smoking) I wish you the very best success!

up to know it has been easy, but i know that it is tricky. The urge comes often but luckily it lasts only a minute. I haven't failed yet. It is almost 2 months now.

Not drinking is easy, but there the motivation is to support a friend that is fighting it off, so it is really not a problem to say no. The tea stuff gives me similar sensations to those I get from drinking wine. I mean, not the high or the gentle softening, but the search and definition of the elements. It helps.

Eating is a daily struggle. I am in the stage where I cook, not only nutrients, but food to be enjoyed. I am trying to find flavor without using much fat and very little spices because of little daughter (I try to cook the same meal for all the family so that we can all sit together happily). Luckily I have a very good teacher, that keeps giving me hints, suggestions and support.

Earl Gray. I steeped for about a minute and threw that out, then resteeped for this cup, hopefully getting rid of most of the caffeine. I try not to drink too much caffeine at night.

heheh what great motivation.

I am trying to figure out why my Brother still smokes. Our Grandfather died of lung cancer when our Father was one and our Mother is 3 1/2 years into her fight with lung cancer. Grandpa smoked, Mom didn't. You would think lung cancer on both sides of the family would be a pretty good reason for not smoking...

It's an insidious habit. Breaking the nicotine addition is easy compared with breaking the smoking habit. Even after all this time, every once in a while I find myself unconsciously reaching towards my pocket. Old habits die hard... but they do die. Good luck, my friend!

Let me recommend Mokkeka. Light and delicious, no spices, and easy to make!
MOKECKA
Brazilian-Portuguese
Mixed sea food (clams, shrimp, squid, crab, fish, etc.) about
400-600gms
1 small onion - minced
1 med. green pepper (or 3 Japanese green peppers) - minced
1 can coconut milk
1 can crushed tomatoes
oil for cooking onions and peppers
Chile oil - optional
In a little oil, cook the onions and peppers until the onions
are translucent. Add the tomatoes and coconut milk (well shaken)
and stir. Simmer until heated, then add seafood. Cook until
seafood is done. Eat!

It's just that simple!

I had a cup of Starbuck's "Gingerbread Latte" today. Actually, Tim and I shared it, because we saw on TV that is the same as 2 pieces of pumpkin pie. It is soooooo good!

Wonderful. Very simple also.
The little one is starting to develop her cooking talent. On that I have really mixed feelings.

Kiss and tell?
nah.

I have many stories going on, at different levels of ripeness. I keep moving them around the shelf, dusting them, putting some salt here and there, slapping some so that the air bubbles stay small. It is one of my hobbies.

The war against old age, i know that I will loose it and I could not care less, but I hope to win some battles yet, and have fun.
This winter at least I'll put the Little One in the hands of the Swiss Ski Meister System and the fun will start once again. In March she will be 4 and she adores the snow and the speed. More than 30 years have passed since I skied with a little daughter. Grandchild is too small yet.

If I know beppe a little, he falls in love with her every day again, like the first time.

==========

Some men in this thread (beppe & Stitchawl) are a dream of every woman. You cook! I won't give a link to this topic to...doesn't matter.
I think I would die of starvation or get very close to it but I cannot force myself to cook. Even cutting grass (working in a garden?) is easier.

==========

Anyway, third cup of tea and the second Assam.
I love this tea in the morning.
