Is someone fixing ebook prices?

Google's rumored ebookstore is here at last, begging the question: Who has the better price on ebooks? It's certainly the question I'm asking looking ahead to holiday shopping. Ebooks are definitely on my list of gifts this year -- and yours? Early this afternoon, I did a quick comparison, so you won't have to. The results are disturbing. Something stinks like a diaper. It's not the differences in pricing but the uniformity across ebookstores that surprises. Shouldn't competition in a hot new category drive pricing variations?

Misuse of the phrase "begging the question" is a personal pet peeve of mine. I find it so annoying that once an author uses it I can't take anything they say seriously. At least this author used it in his very first sentence, saving me from reading a page worth of idiotic drivel from a moron. Or at least that's how I consider him now that he misused the phrase.

There is an article in the Sydney Morning Herald here regarding the claim that it is cheaper to buy books/ebooks locally in Australia than overseas. This is plainly not the case as some very quick research proves.

I agree with the assertion that journalistic research is somewhat lacking at times these days. Seems the information is gleaned from Twitter and Facebook.
