MISTBORN!!! I loved it! But forgot that it was going to be a series. Those are a couple of books I need to get.
Thanks for the head-up! Freebie from where?

LOL Bear, but you can pick on me all you want. I know my book is not for everyone, but I appreciate the review from Grace. She is thoughtful and her reviews are well-written.

I am reading Numenon, but I don't think Bear would like it. It was on my TBR pile and the first one I chose to sync to my new Kindle ~ after my own of course. It's got good reviews and I'm about 1/4 way through and find it very engaging. I tend to be a slow reader but I really want to know what comes next!

ps. I don't know the author...yet.

Yes, she does write very good reviews. And thank YOU for taking my comment in the light-hearted way it was intended!

That's okay, Bear, I wouldn't normally read books involving werewolves either, but I do know I downloaded the sample of Witch Moon a while ago and put it on my TBR list... because the cover caught my eye, (apparently) the wolf is my totem and I was born under the sign of the moon. And more importantly because it sounds like a good lighthearted romp. And we don't get enough of those, methinks.

Good luck with all your books!

That goes way back (two years or so) to when Tor was giving away free ebooks as a promotion for a new web site.

Unless it's free again... but I expect the above is what DG is talking about.

I realize that most folks here don't read non-fiction, but here are the two e-books I am currently reading (both Overdrive downloads):

Give It Up!: My Year of Learning to Live Better with Less by Mary Carlomagno -- a dozen essays on areas in her life she's given up for that month: using her mobile phone, eating out, alcohol, etc.; the entries aren't as self-congratulatory as I'd feared they might be. The items return to her lifestyle afterward, but they don't play as much of a part as they did given her new awareness.

The Inland Sea by Donald Richie. Author's travels through the (then remote) islands of southern Japan, before satellite television, cell phones, etc. became commonplace (c. 1970).

They both sound interesting! I read a lot of non-fiction, actually. Or rather, I go through periods where I read a lot of non fiction. I think I'll check out "The Inland Sea". Thanks for sharing.

I've just started "Latte Trouble" by Cleo Coyle in paperback, the third in her Coffeehouse mysteries. Like caffeine, this series is strangely addicting...

I like Cleo Coyle writing as Alice Kimberly in the Haunted Bookshop series.

These cozy mysteries are really proliferating -- I'm waiting for a sleuth who manufactures obscure Central European sausages, or translates Sanskrit poetry, as a profession.

Actually, there's a few of us weirdos who still read non-fiction though my library's Overdrive library is pretty small.

There's one about a bookbinder, but as I love antiquarian books, I really like that series

The only problem with the Cleo Coyle series is I miss this old coffee joint I used to go during college. They roasted their beans in house and it was phenomenal.
