Playing with Bucky Balls. Best... Desk toy... EVAR!

Now i see that ThinkGeek has them on sale today only for 3 for 2. Dropped a quite specific broad hint on the boychild, since he was looking for something for me for Christmas. If one cube is this fun, think what four would do!

I'd probably never get any work done ever again.

Gawd! Tell me about it! I sat in my TV room all evening, just fiddling with them. Now, I'm doing searches to find new shapes to try out. I'm addicted!

We were looking through the catalog the other day and there were a few things that immediately jumped out at us for our niece who can be a bit of a hellion at times.

There was the Avenging Unicorn (which I can't find on their site now) and the Dismember-me Zombie dolls (http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/plush/ac4a/). We got to those pages and looked at each other and both said her name. Her mom may not appreciate it but if she'd discipline the little satan-spawn and maybe spend a little time with her there wouldn't be a problem and we wouldn't be looking for a little red tricycle for her as well.

Wow, I was just shopping for p-books on Amazon, and because one that I was interested in cost $100 u.s.d. I decided to comparison shop on the Canadian Amazon site. Wow, 3 of the 4 books I was looking to buy are significantly cheaper on the Canadian site ($38 vs. $100, for example). The forth is only a dollar more expensive on the Canadian site. I'm really surprised, the U.S. site used to always have cheaper books than amazon.ca. Has anyone else found this, or is it just a fluke that the books I wanted are cheaper for Canadians? They aren't books written by Canadian authors, or published by Canadian publishing houses.

I never looked at the Canadian Amazon site, but $100 for a book at Amazon.com sounds strange. Could it be a book that is hard to find, maybe out of print, and the price you are seeing is not from Amazon but from a marketplace vendor that is pricing according to rarity? And maybe Amazon Canada would have a few still in inventory at the original price? Still, it sounds strange.

Are both prices in USD? That could account for some of the difference is the Canadian price is in Canadian dollars. The last I checked the exchange rate is nowhere near 2:1, but it could account for some of it.

Sadly, it is not even that. The mom is one of those rebellious ones that thinks it is cool. Unfortunately she is pushing her views and thoughts onto her kids - rather pointedly too. It is all rather sad .... sigh...

No, the Canadian site lists prices in Canadian dollars. It's this book:

http://www.amazon.com/Tacitus-Histor...657632&sr=8-21

Here is the Canadian listing:

http://www.amazon.ca/Tacitus-Histori...1657674&sr=8-3

They seem to be the same edition of the book. I often buy books from the Cambridge Greek and Latin series, and while they are a big pricey this is the first time I've seen one go for $100!

sometimes that can turn around on them. I was quite the wilde childe and both of my kids are much more straight laced and conservative than I am
