I'm perfectly aware of all the consequences. I've spent time in the intelligence community and my son is pretty damn far up in crypto intel gathering. so knock it off |

Since NASA is a civilian agency that doesn't usually deal in classified data, they don't use much in the way of encryption. That's like saying your encryption is better than the Dept. of Agriculture, or the U.S. Forest Service. .quibble OFF Regards, Jack Tingle |

I once had a certain soundcard on my old PC which had two stereo outputs originally intended for 2 front speakers and 2 rear speakers. I wanted to use it a bit differently - I wanted to play some sounds in the first stereo output and completely different sounds in the second output. However it seemed that the outputs are not completely separated, some sound from the first output was always audible in the second output too. Even the techsupport claimed it's not possible to separate the channels.

Some people here might say in such a situation that "the best advice would be" to buy a different soundcard. Turns out what I wanted was possible with some alternative russian drivers. The morale of the story is that sometimes some devices could be used in originally unintended ways and solutions may exist even when some people deny their existence or are uncomfortable with such usage. "The best advice" is never to simply give up and submit. |
