Well, yeah. Be we (mom and I) are already buying him a new laptop too. Money isn't infinite.

I did go with the Amazon NON-lighted cover. Given where he normally sits in the house when reading the light isn't necessary. And he doesn't usually read in bed either.

If his new K3 begins to reboot spontaneously, take it out of the case and see if that fixes the problem. There have been a number of reported issues allegedly related to the unlighted case:

I wouldn't worry about it. But you know something to try should the rebooting issue rear its ugly head. And instead of swapping K3s back and forth with Amazon, you may be able to save yourself some time and headaches and just replace the case instead, should that turn out to be the problem.

I havent purchased my Kindle yet but there was a case I wanted. Apparently that was discontinued but someone in the reviews posted a link here.

I dont know if these cases are any good or not but Im pretty sure Im going to buy one from here. The fact that I can make a case resembling my favorite book cover is great and I cant wait to see how it turns out.
