And if we have time-travel we can just back to the 60's and fill up the gas tank.

Always: our cat likes it too; she tries to eat the cheese before the birds get to it. But usually I give them: appels on a string, fat balls with seeds in it, unsalted peanuts, sunflowerseed, birdfood, cheese, cooked leftover patatos, peanutbutter, raisins, dried red fruit, old bread.
I just may have to wean them slowly at end of the seaon.

Wow, I think I'll just come hang out in your back yard -- I would get better balanced meals than I do on my own!

And one question is what part of the price is taxes and surcharges? In various European countries, prices are deliberately high through government intervention, to encourage motorists to be economical, and reduce dependence on foreign imports.

Friends of ours in Virgina put out food for the birds. The problem is, the squirrels like it too. So they put up a suspended bird feeder with a weight trigger: if something heavier than a normal bird lands on it (like a squirrel), it starts spinning and making noises, to throw off (and scare off) the intruder.

Alas, it doesn't have the intended effect. The squirrels seem to think it's an amusement park ride, and after getting tossed off and staggering dizzy for a few moments, climb right back up in an apparent case of "Ohhh! That was fun! Do it again!"

the only truly effective anti squirrel tool is to put extremely hot chili powder on the birdseed. birds don't have the receptors on their tongues to sense the heat, squirrels however do and do not care for the sensation

Would you like old or young Gouda cheese and wholegrain bread or plain white?

I could buy such a thing for my cat; that would give the birds more of a fair chance to grab some food, before she does.

I don't know why people don't like squirrels. They're a lot more fun in your back yard than a whale is.

You anti-squirrel people need to loosen up and have fun feeding squirrels.

I've had the day from hell at work! First, people don't show up - so I get to do their work. Then my boss gives me the wrong mileage figures to file with out accounting firm, already late. Then he saunters in with a "guesstimate" that he just made up in the hallway. I run to pull the envelope with the old figures from the outgoing mail. Then he corrects his "guesstimate." I file everything away to re-visit on Monday.
Then I then start doing someone else's job, and find they have left several days worth of stuff undone. Get that done.
Then I get to do yet someone else's job to end the day - leave about an hour later than usual and encounter drivers from another galaxy.

Finally made it home, had a Guinness & pepperoni pizza, and am settling into my recliner for the evening.

I'm mad as hell and trying to calm down!

Wow!! Sounds like you are the only one they really need. Except of course, that you would like to breathe and to have a life, too. Sorry it was so busy, but good-on-you for solving all the problems!

Sorry Poohbear, but we didn't think that you would miss us. I left some stuff on the overhead. Did you get that done too, or are you going in on Saturday to finish?

Yes - I finished that too! And left you a little present [ticking] in your desk drawer! Be sure to warm it up in the microwave before opening! And shake it too!

And no - I won't be going in on Saturday! Ever!

[memo to self - PM badgoodDeb and get some of those large hungry lizards to send to SOS for Xmas! Extra large!]
