Calibre Server: convert to supported format
Would it be possible to add the following feature:
When browsing library through server (from kindle, for example), to have an option to convert existing book to supported format (e.g. mobi)?

I'll submit a ticket if it's seems doable... Thank you!

no, the server is a readonly process.

But couldn't the server-process still be a readable one, if the desired target format is converted 'on the fly' and directly pushed as a download?
Nothing would ever have to be written on disk!

It would be very helpful if some few desired formats could be predefined to be available as a converted download.

The server is a on the side process that is careful not to write any files because Calibre is not multi-user (that currently includes its self).

I'm a big fan of calibre server. I'd love to see the server be able to convert content. Is this on the future roadmap?

Kovid will be the one to answer this.

If you need format X, why not make sure it exists before hand? (Pre use conversion rather than depend on 'On Demand')
