Personally, I think Sony may have shot themselves in the foot with the decision to exclude WiFi from the 350 and 650. With Amazon and Apple offering it, the lack of WiFi is going to be a major downer in purchasing decisions, especially because of the price premium Sony is charging. Big mistake there. |

I just got the lighted red Sony cover for my 650 and I am very happy with it! I think it's classy looking, doesn't add a lot of bulk (like my M-Edge Executive cover did with my 700) and the light works great!
I'm not sure how super protective it will be, but for my current use it is fine. Maybe if I need something more heavy-duty later on, there will be more to choose from. |

Here's another thought: If you invest the $25 savings at 6% for 30 years, you will have $150 in your pocket. Repeat that 4 times each year and you'll be $8,280 richer in 30 years.

Except that inflation will eat half of that, so call it $4K richer, lol.

That eco-nique one is an i-nique cover. I had the Saddleback one for my PRS-600, and it was so good I pre-ordered the PRS-650 one as soon as my 650 arrived. I've now received the cover and it's had a couple of slight upgrades from the first one. It now has a magnetic catch rather than an old style one, and there is now a small velcro flap to ensure the reader can't slide out (it did not slide out of my 600). The reason why I like these covers so much is because they have a support on the back which makes reading the book anywhere far easier. It is expensive though... I-nique's website, I believe, was designed by a 13 year old. The young web designer was tasked with producing the site, always keeping in mind the watchword "cool". The end result is a website that really just isn't very good for looking at the products. I've taken some pictures of my 650 in the Tuff-Luv Saddleback case, anyone want to see em? Hi,
Bought my PRS650 and bought the cover. I love my ereader Staples has had them both on for a week or two. FYI The case I am unimpressed with because, the part that attatches to the ereader is plastic I think that is very cheap of them considering the price ($39.99 plus + on sale). So my decission is coming down to getting another case to go over top or creating 1-2 cases myself. Designs running around in my head. 1) I think that I need a way to keep dust out of all of the ports in it. 2) I need a backup. I am not particularly easy on things never have been no matter how hard I try. Jar Jar Binks |

I do wish this cover had added slots to hold small pieces of paper etc or a card. I tried the 650 in my case that my 500 sits in and actually other than slightly loose it would have worked. but for now, this one until m cover or whoever it is that refuses to make more for this model will make one. I love the go cover and colors, but they just don't have it for this. Last edited by Aprilbeginnings; 12-02-2010 at 08:30 AM. |

I've cropped them down, and they were taken with my phone so they aren't incredibly detailed. However I think they show the case reasonably well.
If you would like any more photos taken, please do ask. As long as they're useful to someone I don't mind in the least. Photo 7 has come out well! One Two Three Four Five Six Seven |

I ordered the Eco-nique Hemp case. I prefer the covers that open like a book versus the vertical flip style.

Well it turns out that my PRS-650 fits my Oberon cover from my old prs-600 just fine. Love the Oberon cover beautiful and well made. A shame they discontinued their Sony E-reader line

Beautiful. I'm glad to see that you didn't have to buy a new cover. I love the Oberon covers, but they are too expensive to justify me getting one at this point in time.

I've just got my 650 with the Sony lighted cover.
I love the reader, the light's fine but the general finish of the cover compares very unfavourably with the light wedge cover on my 505. The light wedge cover was fully leather faced, which looked very nice and made it a pleasure to hold. The 650 cover (which is also sold as a leather cover) is basically nylon (or similar) with only about two thirds of the front cover being leather faced. I'm really disappointed. ![]() Looks like I could be joining those in the market for an alternative lighted cover. Last edited by mediax; 12-08-2010 at 05:08 AM. Reason: Expanded sorrow |
