Squee! Ordered my 650 Today!

I'm pumped. I ordered a Black 650 from Future shop today. They were offering $30 off + a Cyber monday coupon for an additional discount. So I saved a bit over $40. I had been planning to wait for a boxing day deal, but this was just too good to pass up. I figure if they do drop the price for boxing day, I can try for their 30 day price guarantee. I'm just so excited, I've downloaded calibre and organized a bunch of my library already with covers and tags and metadata and stuff. Now I just have to wait for it to get here.

Talking

Congratulations on getting your PRS-650 (although it isn't there yet )! I've had mine since Thursday (bought it for a lot more at Sony Style) and I can't seem to put it down for very long. It handles every book I've thrown at it with ease and keeps on asking for more.

Be sure however that if you decide to listen to music on your PRS-650, that you put the music on a memory card first and then insert the card into the memory card slot of the Reader. I've tried loading my music on to the internal flash with bad results. Also note that the music player only plays tracks from the album you choose (based off the album tag on the MP3 and AAC files) with no auto advance (can't play all of the songs in a folder).

How exciting, Gadget_girl! Congrats! Now you just have to stay patient for your delivery which is the real challenge. But if you are already getting your library ready, then you'll be able to setup your reader quickly and start playing right away.

Soul_Est, I saw your other music thread. I haven't had any problems with either MP3s or AACs loaded on my reader main memory. There are workarounds to create a custom playlist using the album tags in order to play your songs consecutively. You might be interested in this music thread from a few weeks ago.

The Agony! I'm in India (Bangalore), so I'd asked my aunt who was coming down from the US to get one for me. She got it to another aunt's place(Delhi), from where it was picked up one of Dad's colleagues who got it into town. I got my Reader 2 days before my exams were to start and it was lying boxed up for 21 days while my exams were on before I could finally lay my hands on it and check it out. I attained new levels of patience and restraint which I didn't think existed , but getting it out and playing with it and reading on it finally has been exquisite

Wow! Your ereader had an interesting journey. That is true patience! Especially since most of us can relate to how tempting it is to look for distractions when you are supposed to be studying.

Just ordered a red one today

Called and just flat out asked if there was a way to get a discount, and they gave me 10% off. Couldn't pass that up. Only saved me about 15 bucks in the long run, but it was still pretty sweet.

Gonna take 5-7 days before I get it in though, ARGH...
