advise needed on merging database or not

Hello,

I am anticipating getting to use my kindle 3 next week.

To add to the excitement I have found many books to read in Dutch and in English (both languages more than 2000 at least). I have many doubles, but that doesn't bother me. What bothers me is that I created 2 databases, one with dutch and one with English. Of course this is a bit cumbersome as I tend to open the wrong one, add English books to the dutch database and the other way around.

I wonder if it would be a good idea to merge the databases and live with the fact that a book in the db can be english or dutch.

Has anyone else experience in this? Any advice?

Kind regards,
Vincent

That entirely depends on what you like, doesn't it? Technically, there's nothing wrong with either merging or not merging the databases. Personally, I have english and german textbooks and fiction books merrily mixed in one database and have set up some saved searches to get what I want, but that kind of depends on what you personally like and how you work with the books.

You could make a custom column (very easy) and label them whether they are English or Dutch.
If you take one library and label it (bulk edit) according to it's language the when you merge it is easy to bulk edit the unlabeled ones.
It would be a lot simpler than switching libraries.

Or just add a tag to do the same thing.

So many options to choose from, if you would like to put them in one library go for it.
