these warnings are from moi creator. he make the badly nested ul's.

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/xm.../section4.html tells how to do this. it seems to work.

I use ePUBpack--but I forget where I got it. Works Spiffy.

i have had some success. the following recipe seems to work:

use mobi, add html files
make a toc using mobi, copy it, convert to utf-8 (be careful), make it valid html, remove old toc and add in new toc.
make a prc

stick prc into calibre, convert to epub, unzip
run kindlegen on content.opf
edit date in content.opf (remove time)
zip it back up and run through epubcheck and flightcrew.

the new xipped epub goes through epubcheck and flight crew with *no* warnings or errors!

there are still a few problems.

the mobi made by kindlegen has an ncx, but it only shows one level (heading 1). this may have to do with the fact that i edited the toc and made it valid html.

the mobi made by kindlegen says it has no toc (in kindle previewer). there is a toc inline in the tml. this inline toc stops about halfway through the entries (there are about 170 entries in the toc). mobi reader and kindle pc reader have no problem with this inline toc when reading the same mobi file, so maybe it's just the previewer that is hosed.

thanks
