Coconut Thai Chai (yes, Celestial Seasonings-- I'm regressing! )

But! While Christmas shopping in a salvage store today, I found a tin of "Golden Assam" loose tea. I got it, but haven't tried it yet. What should I expect from it?

That's OK. Transitions should always be gradual.

Great surprises. Assam can either be fantastic or horrible, and everything in between, depending upon who, when, and where. Twining's Golden Assam is a 'nice' tea but somewhat insipid, while Fortnum & Mason's Assam is fantastic! Ahmed's Assam is simply horrible, while Williamson's Assam is pretty good! And of course, all this depends upon who is doing the tasting too!

I hope you enjoy your find. Half the fun of tea drinking is the little surprises we find along the way!

Ciao. For what it is worth, I made a subjective evaluation of mine Assam in this post. Am comments are right after this post.

Again the comments of our Tea Master are very useful.

I'll give you some K because I envy your Christmas shopping, and the tin finding: I am still on loose packages hold by laundry pins.
PS. That will have to wait because I am dry.

LOL! I just got home from Starbucks. I've grown to like their ice tea. A sandwich, iced tea, and a chocolate chunk cookie while reading an Alex Cross detective story on my Sony. What a life!

(What I should have been doing was sitting at the keyboard banging out magazine copy... but I thought Starbucks would be more interesting.)

beppe, I found some nice tins at the 100Yen Shop. For about less than one Euro you can find some very nice containers! That is, if they have such shops near you!

Too right. Wish I had a Starbucks nearby. They make a good hot chocolate with whipped cream.

oranges (freshly squeezed, or rather, freshly squeezed last night) with banana (freshly blended, or rather, freshly blended last night) smoothy!

And Astra, I'm no longer afraid, I'm in the middle of a terrible head cold (stuffed nose, heavy head, stuffed throat...)
