My Italian roommates were concerned that I was poisoning myself when I made my first PBJ sandwich at the apartment. They really liked the Peanut Butter cookies we made for them.

Peanut butter is much easier to make, easier to find in Asia, and hits the spot as a snack when eaten off a big spoon!

Drinking a cup of Rooibos.

About that peanut butter thing -- I eat a lot of it. My standby sandwich at lunchtime when I can't think of anything else I want is peanut butter & honey on whole wheat bread.

Metoometoometoo! Only not in the middle of the night. Usually middle of the morning. But it has to be on a soup spoon and not on bread!

It's a beautiful morning, Taylors of Harrogate's 'English Breakfast tea' is steeping, and as it's a national holiday today we are gearing up for another ride though the mountains! This time I'll take a better camera... grrrrrrr.

I will!

It just seems such a strange mix of flavours (savoury and sweet) if you aren't brought up with it.

Usually (but not always) English Breakfast tea uses Keemun as its main flavoring while Irish Breakfast tea uses Assam as its main ingredient. Usually both are blended with Ceylon as the second largest ingredient, and often the other (either Keemun or Assam) as the third in a very small amount.

This has to be chanted in groups while jumping up and down standing in either airports or bus stations.

I used to mix that up (with just a bit of oatmeal and regular butter) into a stiff 'dough' to use as winter backpacking lunches. You can pack a lot of calories into something like that!
