Arrr.. Lots of apps I really want to install into IQ are all for Android 2.1 or above...
(As a Korean, I really hoped to install Korean ebook stores' reading apps and found they all need Android 2.1 OS. It sucks...) When will Pocketbook IQ be upgraded to Android 2.2 Froyo? Quicker is better to me ![]() |

A big step forward no doubt for internationalization. I do have to say though, even though Arabic/Hebrew characters appear on Android Froyo (2.2) it's still far from being a practical solution since there are alignment and major issues still present. Google is promising something in the near future (in 2.3 maybe?) and Pocketbook needs to be attuned to the fast developments coming from Google to their selected IQ platform.

The information PocketBook gives to this forum, coupled with the software they write, is exactly why I bought from PocketBook.
As an off topic aside... I am so impressed by the level of English written here by people for whom English *must* be a second language: Spain, Germany, Korea, Ukraine, etc. The writing is *better* than many for whom English is native. And here I am in Mexico, part time, struggling to get barely functional in Spanish. Spanish has got to be the easiest language for an English speaker. |

![]() As a native-speaker I can tell you that all the benefits of the syllabic nature of the language vanish in the face of the hell of accentuation. ![]() Only thing worse is french: it has *three* kinds of accents. Nobody should have to deal with three accents! ![]() |

![]() Anyway, I am glad to hear Pocketbook is testing Froyo since I was weary to get an Android tablet that was not running it. Do we have the specs on what CPU and chipset the IQ is using btw? |

They go to a french Lycée in Europe and I can assure you that all the school programs there are exactly following the official programm of the french education ministry "à la lettre". So the way you are supposed to learn french has not changed, at least not the accents. The Wiki article you are refering to indicates that in some words, mostly verbs, the accent has in some odd forms been removed, in some words it has been added, but most words with accent remain with accent. Having been through already a complete "renovation" of the german language, and hating the way everything is now wrtitten, I am certainly not looking forward to one of the french. Well... I guess people around here just got it wrong and they should just stick to the same old French we learned to love.
![]() Anyway, schools seems reluctant to adopt that reform but the education ministry seems to be very intent in applying the new way of writing. By the way, I live in Québec. ![]() To get back to the subject, I think I'll have to get the IQ after all... many good things going for it so far. |

PDF features of the Pocketbook IQ
Hello,
I went through this entire thread, but could not find any PDF specific features of PBIQ... Though it has been asked couple of times, but PB people dont seem to answer about this... Can anyone already having the IQ please comment on this? 1) Can you write handwritten notes in PDF files.. It would be quite useful for reading research papers and annotating them. 2) If yes to the previous question, how are these annotations saved? Are they linked to the PDF forever, so that one can open the pdf again and see them... 3) and by the way is there a stylus supplied with the IQ, given that it has a resistive touchscreen... |
