This is intersting I recommend buying in small amounts value wise too, as Credit card transactions of a lower amount receive less authorisation checks.

Denlac - I'm in Melbourne and thinking of buying through B&H too. Did you nominate UPS or Fedex as the carrier?

I selected the cheapest option, around $40, which uses UPS.

Fast delivery, (around 4 days to Brisbane) with tracking.

Can't see any point in selecting a more expensive option.

Im in Sydney and ordered it from BH last tuesday, got it Friday morning.

Wonderfull device. I grabbed as much classics as i could from the sony store. At the moment im looking for places that accept paypal so i can get stuff in Australia.

Im trying to find the original Dunes at the moment. Im reading Bram Stokers Dracula in the mean time.

I was going to wait until Dymocks announced what device they are going to sell, but no news yet. And after a lot of scrutiny, I decided the Sony was the best for me anyway.

Order from B&H shipped using the ~$40 UPS last Monday and received it last Friday. I'm in Adelaide.

I am planning to order 505 from B&H tonight. I don't remember all the details of the process though.
Do I place an order online? Do I have to call them?

You pay on line as normal they will then send you an email asking you to send them a scan or digi photo of the front and back of your card via a secure link.

Once that is done they will charge your card and ship it(your reader taht is)

Note that while they do accept Paypal from UK customers, I'd not recommend it as you still need to scan & upload your CC details. (This was only apparent afterwards, else I'd just have used the CC to start with.)

In addition, while hopefully they've now fixed it, in my case it showed up a problem in their internal systems that corrupted my postcode (zipcode) details at the dispatch point (it was fine on the order confirmation email). They did send an email querying the code but failed to act on my reply, so things only moved once I was able to get through to them by phone the day after that, at which point it was referred upwards & supposedly sorted.

They did promise to ship my order (a blue 505) out that day (Fri), but I have my suspicions that they ran out of stock before doing so, as the status still shows 'Processing'...

Updated: Literally /just/ got a 'Shipped' email from them now... (with various permutations of my postcode, e.g. stripping the leading chars in one instance, adjusting the character grouping in another - hopefully when it gets to this side, it'll be translatable back & get here!)

Updated2: Got an email from them explaining that they'd packaged it for shipment but it wasn't picked up before they closed at Friday midday!

The PRS-505 Silver is in stock - I just checked. You're out of luck if you want the blue one though...

I just ordered mine on Monday (I'm in Canberra). If mine arrives on Friday I'll be very happy!
