Saying words in a church, synagogue, or mosque doesn't make one any more religious than saying 'Varrroooom!' in a garage makes one a car...

This is one of the reasons why I escaped the 'bricks and mortar' religions.
Although I remember a quote that stayed with me "Do not do to others that which you would not like done to you; the rest is mere commentary." by Rabbi Akiva. Actually, that is a tougher one to stick to than a lot of the others.

There are times when the idea of human sacrifice seems to be a terrific idea!

Cheers.

That's one of the rules I live by; I personally think it's easier than, y'know, that other rule that sounds similar.

Here's my rant - the Friggin U.S. Postal system which lost the Sony 900 I shipped to India - yes to one of the members here. Now neither he nor I have the reader and we are both out bunches of money. I know I probably should have paid extra and insured it and all that, but I was too trusting. I do know it will never happen again. I hope whomever ends up with it appreciates all the great literature I left on it.

.....yeah, I'd like to "do unto" someone!!!!

Postpartum abortion?

I can't believe that you would send it without insurance or "signature required", Kenny. But do hope very much that it's just a matter of "misplaced mail".

And just how the heck is anyone supposed to NOT covet their neighbor's wife, especially if she's a real hottie? Huh? I ask you?

I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread. (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Lev. 24:10-16) Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

The dietary habits of Jews is one of the most appealing aspects about their religion. If I ever convert, it will probably be for the food.

In fact; I had some Chinese just the other night.
