			Hi,

Is the November 20th software upgrade concerned with the whole Android operating system or is it just a fix to the Pocketbook reader software? Thanks P.S. for those able to test Firefox 4 for Mobile (Fennec), I'm not sure the processor on the IQ is ARM7-based. An ARM6 build is available here https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Plat...xperimental.29 |

You can always go here with your PC and start stocking up: http://www.freewarelovers.com/androi...gory/reference (Or other equivalent sites.) Kindle, Kob, B&N, Aldiko, even iSilo! Still looking for a LIT reader, though. (sigh) That would make the IQ a universal reader. (I mean, *iSilo*?)

Heh, I have a bunch of old LIT files that I'm loathe to convert. I'd prefer skipping that step altogether and just loading them onto the device. But I suppose I'll eventually have to.

I'm sure it'll work out for me. You're probably right, I will read on it before you. Heh! I'll let you know how it goes. Can't wait to get it soon!

The best hope is that Stanza might show up on Android, but so far there is no sign of it...

![]() I hit it for 72 apps and 88MB this morning when I found it. A few intriguing options in there, like the VLC client. Very happy to see a Last.FM app as well as the Pandora one. A bit lean on media players/streaming clients but no shortage on ebook readers. ![]() Sure makes the IQ awfully attractive as a Webpad... |

I called the US support phone number, and Regina said that the firmware would not be available until next weekend--Black Friday here in the US.

We are starting shipping all orders now. Folks who received IQ earlier (or have devices without this firmware on the way) please contact the seller you bought the device from to get the instructions for the upgrade. Since it is not a regular firmware upgrade I am not publishing it for all. Thank you for understanding. |

tvpupsik, have you tested out this new firmware? Does the reader software now work quickly and are PDFs aligning correctly?

Installing the firmware on all IQ devices and packing orders we need to ship doesn't leave time for using/testing one of them myself.

Okay, here are some photos from my IQ in action.

First is the home screen of Amazon for Android, second is the imprint of an eBook in Amazan for Android (really sharp rendering! I use a rather dim background light right now!) and the last one is from a comic books page in Droid Comic Viewer. ![]() ![]() ![]() And, yep, it's fun!

Since you can easily adjust the backlit in the Kindle for Android or switch to sepia (or night) colored screen it is fit for any light conditions, day, evening, night. Didn't try it outside, though.

Also, I have to try it for a longer night time period. Last edited by K-Thom; 11-21-2010 at 08:03 PM. |
