Me too. I used to re-read books, but I don't have to do any more midnight desperate searches through the bookshelves to find something to read. It is all new and interesting now.

"Against Intellectual Monopoly" by Michele Boldrin and David K. Levine ( http://levine.sscnet.ucla.edu/genera...al/against.htm ).
It was a Kindle for iPhone though. And I only found the free version later. |

I supposed I could have posted this in the general forum, but I wanted to hear from people in this forum. I felt it was a good question to spark conversation in this community. Since I read all the forums, I don't see the big deal.
P.S. Thanks for the ideas!! Can't wait to read some of them. Last edited by CyberpunkDad; 11-21-2010 at 10:19 PM. Reason: Added P.S. |

First Have To Have Book
Ivory by Mike Resnick, one of the best books I have ever read, and I have been reading for 62 years, average a book a day.

The first book I bought was actually a collection, the collection of Anthony Trollope's complete works.

The first 2 books mentioned Neuromancer, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy are among my most often read books which I have in paper format. I don't have them on the Kindle and will not buy the Ebook version if I already have the paper. I never read outside the house so there is no need for both. My most wanted Ebook would be, and it may seem a little strange for a male, The Time Travelers Wife. I have the paperback and the Blu Ray movie (which strays from the book in many places but still enjoyable). I don't think an Ebook version has been released at least not in the UK.

Omnilingual by H. Beam Piper
It's probably my favorite short story (novella, really, I guess) http://manybooks.net/titles/piperh1944519445-8.html Project Gutenberg has a version with the illustrations from the original as well |

Mitchel Scanlon - Fifteen Hours
The demonstration how you can write a very deep book and still be fun to read. Thought of the day: If all is going good, you are probably walking in a trap |
