But i dont need calibre database , i want calibre only to convert my cbr files into mobi so by that logic when i`m done with converting i going to move mobi files in safe place rename them and delete the whole list/database from calibre.

If you are only going to use Calibre to convert, then you should look at using the command line options (in particular the ebook-convert command) as that way you never need to load books into the Calibre library and you have explicit control over any filenames.

so to prove me being really dumb can you please give me an example on how to convert the whole folder full of cbr files (500 of them) or is command line converting being limited to file by file converting? Thank you Last edited by dujik; 11-21-2010 at 02:50 AM.

pls help. not sure how this works or if I am asking in the right place. just upgraded from 0.7.28 to 0.7.29 i had imputed a lot of metadata from the server on various books. is there anyway I can transfer that data to 0.7.29 without going to the server on each book? Thanks, prony Last edited by prony; 11-21-2010 at 05:02 AM. Reason: found the answer- thanks |

@prony next time actually edit your post that you found the answer. Sharing the answer as a update to a post also helps others. I'm glad you figured it out! Last edited by DoctorOhh; 11-21-2010 at 05:57 AM.

Can anyone tell me what I should put in to get Calibre to show the books formats in the Format column that I've added?

There are automated ways to do this, but why bother? Why don't you just make a search for whatever formats you are interested in and save the search?

I do not see any way of defining 'next page' or 'previous page' to a mouse click in the e-Book Reader. As it is, the single left click does nothing. I have used windows readers that allow left click on the top half of a display to be 'previous page' and on the bottom half of the display to be 'next page' much like taps in many palm reader apps. This would be much more user friendly than clicking on the small purple buttons at the bottom, or above or below the elevator on the scroll bar at the right. And when reading in a chair in front of an HDTV display it is not convenient to have the keyboard on my lap to use the page up or page down keys. That's where the cat sits. Have I missed it? If not is there any chance it might be added? Also, is there a way to hide the scroll bar? It seems unnecessary and distracting when reading a book. It would be nice to have a show/hide button for it, as there is for the TOC. BTW, Calibre is really looking impressive! Just installed the latest version over a version I downloaded a long time back and am amazed at the changes. Great work! Regards, Gord |
