No, I've never felt that. I view books as words. So long as the words are there, I don't really care about the format. Appearances don't mean much to me either. Plus, I live in Taiwan, and space is at a premium here. I like the lack of physical space and convenience of e-books.

I've never given up paper books. In fact, in August I joined the Doubleday Book Club, although most of my purchases have gone for gifts rather than for myself.
So far, I've used my jetBook Lite only for free downloads. I figured that it paid for itself in three months. |

I recently went into a brick and mortar book store (Dymocks) locally with my 16 YO daughter and my observation was that books seemed to big and bulky now. My journey to ebooks is now complete I guess

I don't miss pbooks at all. They always give me paper cuts! However if I can't buy a book in ebook format, I'd still pick up the pbook and being grumpy the whole time I'm reading it.

I just got two paper books delivered from Amazon today. The last two novels I read were both ebooks.
I buy both, I read both, and I consider both "real." I prefer prose fiction in e-format, but I like graphic novels a lot, too - and they're much better on paper. As others have said, it's not an either-or; it's both. |

I feel just the opposite. When I buy a paper book now, I feel a real and deep regret that I didn't get an ebook. I recently bought a great reference book because the hardbound edition was the same price as the Kindle edition (and it wasn't available as an ebook anywhere else). The book is great, but now it's sitting there, looking at me, on the coffee table because there's no room in any of the book cases.

I'm appreciating less clutter & less dusting.

Yes, when you own an ereader you don't have to dust anymore nor shower either.

I am a new owner of a Kindle and am relishing the thought of being able to free up some space on my bookshelves - when I get around to it of course. I will be 'Ebaying' first and then donating the ones that don't sell. I have a lot of pbooks and little room. The books that are lucky enough to end up on my bookshelves, and not in drawers or cupboards or wherever there is space, are stacked two deep. I have no doubt I will get some nice surprises when I finally get rid of the first layer because there will be books there I have forgotten I own and certainly haven't read.
The e-reader definitely works for me. The other night I was reading in bed and needed a bathroom break. I found myself placing it face down on the bed so I wouldn't lose my place. ![]() |

![]() I don't know if the Kindle adjusts the orientation depending on how you hold it, but if it does, like the Opus, you'll soon learn to avoid this kind of gesture. ![]() |

I'm not missing paper books at all. I look forward to improvements in ereader technology, but after a year and half with ereaders there really is no going back to paper for me. My next project is to get my wife to make the leap to a Kindle so we can cut down on the clutter even further!
