Transfer ePub to Kindle?
So my CyBook Opus has given up the ghost. I'm considering a Kindle this time around (the convenience of Whispernet is seducing me). Before I click the buy button, I'd like to make sure that I can indeed move my current ePub collection over to the Kindle. I'm assuming that I just convert to Mobi in Calibre and transfer over? How does the transfer work - USB? (And yes, all my books are liberated ePub.

You can xfer them all over via usb, or if you get wifi version (k3) you can have it email them with calibre, and they will deliver free wirelessly. You just have to mail them to your @free.kindle or set your data rate limit to 0$

Thanks, this looks great. Yes, I'm also a big Calibre fan - been using it for a year now. Pretty psyched about the Kindle 3.
By the way, I assume the easy way to get new books *into* Calibre is to download them using Kindle for PC, liberate them, and then import them into Calibre? |

Check out the calibre plug-in for Kindle4PC. You may find no pre-liberation is needed.

The downside of Calibre is that some epubs won't convert correctly as is, the left margin gets fouled up.
See: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...&postcount=330 For an example. Apparently happens if the person who made the epub set a left margin, so you have to edit the CSS file in the epub to set it to zero (or just delete the CSS, which is what I do) |
