I really don't know what you should ask for in return!

And when there are pockets, they seem designed to carry approximately half a postage stamp.

If that much. (grumble mumble) Is practicality really so much to ask in clothing?

I've come to believe over the years that the fashion industry is controlled by pseudo-male extra-terrestrials with a major hatred of human females.

I just went to check something - walking trousers. Same company, same range. Men's version - 9 pockets, including a useful sized cargo pocket on the leg. Women's - 8 pockets. Guess which one it was missing?

Thank you. Support was needed and support came. But ... Here is the conversation I had with one of my subconsciouses

Sub. That would certainly be a nice gift (and one does not ask for gifts in return of birthday gifts ... )
They are nice, but unless it's a hobby/interest and/or one is rich, it's just a lot of money for one small thing. Then of course jewelry is also small and expensive...
With kelly bags you get nothing in return except the satisfaction of a desire.

Beppe There are indistinguishable imitations that costs 1/10. Hand made in Milano. The kelly bags are done very very well. They last one's life.

Sub: But if you care about it, then the imitation is just not really the same.

Beppe: Well. If Wife wants one (and I do not think she does) she can get herself one. I do not mind. And there are still plenty of years before that event. This I have to tell her.

Sorry desertblues. I did not see your post: it was on the page before.
Yes of course, you are right. That is the main point of the whole thing.
I am pretty sure that we can afford something like that without having to think twice about the practical aspects. (without being rich). It means that we do not have to make alternate choices. Note the we as she is the one that manages finances. My role is just to gather the stuff, hers to spend it. Nah it is not true. Being both intellectual we do spend nothing, may be she a bit more than me on shoes and bags and clothing. Me on food maybe (gave up smoking and drinking), certainly not on cars or betting or anything else. I'd like to buy art, but it is way out of my range by order of magnitudes, so I just forget about it. Travelling I am fed up with. When the baby will be 8 or 9 we will travel again. What turns me on is not something that money can buy.

I really like to be loved, but I rather be loved just by magic or by chance or by even pity than by merit or prodigality. It is more spicy. Anyhow, she deserves it for sure, much more than that. Ciao. thank you. I appreciate it.

Are these the same women who ask "Does this make me look fat?"

I need to carrry A4 paper, so my bag have to be large enough for that. So it's bigger than need be. But it's sometimes usefull.
Else there is umbrella (most of times), nitendo DS, cybook, hearphones.

And a smaller bag with cellphone, paper tisues, keys, cards, money. So i don't loose time looking for train card, cradit card. And can take that bag for luch meal without having to carry everyting.

Yup, me too. Often buy men's clothing because of the pockets. That annoys me as the fit isn't very good--baggy. Women's clothing rarely has pockets and when they do, they're also too short dangit! Very annoying.

Speaking of short pockets, I really ran across those the other day when I was shopping for a new pair of jeans. When I looked closer, I saw that the jeans with the little bitty short pockets were labelled "Modern Fit." Apparently that means that the waist falls well below the actual waistline, and that amount of space appears to be subtracted from the pockets at the top. Fail!

I ended up getting my old tried-and-true Lee Relaxed Fit jeans. Yeah, they're "Mom jeans," but really, do I care? Nope.
