The identifier would seem to be split. Is it split in the original? I think it is supposed to be one word.

I don't see it as split:
<dc:identifier id="BookID" opf:scheme="UUID">a0d1fd34-da99-4a38-bdca-773188174932</dc:identifier> To the extent that I understand these things at all, I reckon that the identifier is: a0d1fd34-da99-4a38-bdca-773188174932 (Oh, okay, when I see it up there, it's broken after 4a38-. No, it's not like that in the code.) Yes, the manifest etc are in there. I just showed the opening stuff since the error was identified as being in line 7. |

Try FlightCrew instead of epubcheck. It will actually tell you what's missing instead of epubcheck's useless error message.

Thanks. I'm downloading it now.
Okay, it flags this error in pink: OLGAEPUB.epub/OEBPS/Text N/A This resource is reachable but not present in the OPF <manifest>. It flagged another error (not in pink) that I was able to fix. But this one I don't understand! Later: Omigosh! It passed Epubcheck this time. Shall I ignore the pink flag in that case? Last edited by Oldpilot; 10-19-2010 at 08:01 PM. |

Yeah, for example if you don't fix it and try to upload it to Apple, they will complain and IIRC, refuse to accept it until it is fixed.

There is no file named Text. Rather, all the xhtml files are listed under a folder named Text. Am I supposed to point to the folder? How? And why does Sigil fail to do this? The book reads fine in every viewer I have tried. It uploaded fine to Lulu, and as noted it passes epubcheck and Flight Report. Thanks again! I am beginning to suspect that the reason I had problems with this book and not the earlier one is that in the earlier case I first used Calibre and only later switched the Sigil to fix some problems. |

If you have an empty folder called "Text", remove it (or put a manifested file into it) so that it is used in the manifest in some form.. Empty folders are not expected. |

I'll probably take a look at the problem tomorrow, I currently don't have the time. |

The N/A was in the Flight Crew report, As I recall there were three windows, with N/A in the middle one. I will insert a | where I think the windows broke:
OLGAEPUB.epub/OEBPS/Text | N/A | This resource is reachable but not present in the OPF <manifest>. The filename was/is olgaepub.epub. I uploaded it to Barnes & Noble, and it went live on the B&N site today. I bought a copy of the book and paged through it in the Nook-for-PC app. It looks fine. Thanks again! |

Any Chance of Sigil being ported to the iPad
I am finding that the main thing I am now using my PC for is to sync some books from gutenberg, podcasts, and working on my book in Sigil.
If Sigil could be ported as a native iPad app, it would be fantastic. I would easily pay $10-$20 for this type of app, and I bet a lot of other aspiring authors may as well. Any thoughts in this direction? (BTW, thanks for a great product) |

Fair enough.
I do lots of open source programming, and as much as I dislike the closedness of the ipad, I am finding it a great device for my needs, and I am finding SIGIL one of the last things I use my PC for. Anyway, much appreciative-ness for this program! |
