Earlier this year (June), the Food Network show Ace of Cakes filmed an episode in Franklin Grove, IL...right down the road from me. Jay was here at the time, so we went to join in the fun and excitement. (I think I posted about it at the time). Anyway, I FINALLY got to see the episode that came out of that visit. The only part of me that made it in the episode is my arm, straight up in the air, holding a camera, while they're cutting the cake they made. The cake was a sheep in a top hat, by the way. Cute.

I think you hit the closest with that last one. And in the shot in question, I was standing under a tree, on a pile of mulch...made me at least an inch taller...which was nowhere near tall enough... I'd have needed to be a couple of FEET taller to have seen anything at that point.

You know, I'm gonna feel pretty silly watching "Ace of Cakes", turning to Petrush and saying "I know that arm!"

Before I forget, has Chris put out a contract on me yet?

Just for a positive opinion -- I thought the photos of the roses were very pretty! And especially in the multiple bunch photo. So opinions do vary!

I'm sure she'll love them, since "the thought" is the biggest part of the gift.

I had to look up Franklin Grove. I mean, there are a ton of "Groves" in IL. I went to high school in a XXX Grove. I drove by your neck of the woods this summer when we drove to Iowa (in a tornado - *that* was fun!) for a family reunion in Coralville. Very cool, your famous arm...

kk- what's up with your helicopters?

DG- health insurance. I hate when something might be going on, and you have to wait a month for an appt so they can then refer you to someone who actually might know what's going on. And I hate that it costs so much for that privilege.

it is unconscionable. Have been there before with my husband, and the emotional turmoil of worrying i swear cuts years off your life......so hang in there.

haven't a clue. all I can speculate at is that Lewis/McCHord is just across the bridge and they may have been training. at least I dont think it was the Pleidians!

We rarely see planes overhead because we're not in any sort of flight plan, so when we see the army helicopters or planes doing their maneuvers or whatever it delights kids, and freaks me out, just a little....

Aren't you a 'copter queen? You should show them how it's done...
