Some are good, some are not.

I like 'Clockwork Pirates'.

Couldn't argue with Wodehouse, Hiaasen or Pratchett. But I would also add Christopher Brookmyre into the mix if I may.

Want something funny to read? You might enjoy the Denial of Service saga.

(Heck, yes, this is a plug! But since it's free... what the hey?)

Looks intriguing enough to download the first one and check it out . (I prefer to start series at the beginning.)

Actually, the ebook collects all 5 stories into the one volume... you get 'em all!

Cool!

The three e-books you had in ePub are now sitting on my iPod Touch. Once I get caught up on a couple of other things, I'm looking forward to reading them.

I think Elmore Leonard can get funny, if you'll allow me to venture into humorous crime/mystery territory.

Good Omens (the Nice and Accurate Professes of Agnes Nutter, Witch) was written by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. I think alot of people forget Neil Gaiman, but it was he who drew me to the book originally. I was (am still, I suppose) a HUGE fan of Gaiman's "Sandman" comics, and hadn't heard of Terry Pratchett, when I first read Good Omens. I was living in Cardiff, Wales at the time, and remember laughing out loud while waiting for my laundry at the local "laundrette" while the other patrons looked at me like I was a complete nut.

Also, I read picked up "The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove" once, just because the title caught my attention and I was 'without a book to read'. I laughed out loud at that one, too.

Other than that, Douglas Adams is still my favourite comedic writer, though... I always wished that there were more to the Dirk Gently series...

I am constanly amazed by the new authors I have found since I started collecting my 70K plus books since August 2010. I guess we all have favorites, but just this thread alone has given me three new authors that I haven't read. MaryJanice Davidson is one that should have honorable mention maybe, who wouldn't want to read a book called Fred The Mermaid? And The Island Of The Sequined Love Nun? I can't wait to read that one.

I've just started The Finkler Question, I like Howard Jacobson as an essayist and columnist and there are some really funny lines in it, but have to confess I'm wondering why this won the Booker - but hopefully it will improve.
