1. You could play with it but I have always felt its best to leave them to charge over night without.

2. There is a G sensor calibration choice in the settings. Choose it and then lay the device down on a flat stable surface. I dont know yet if the new devices will force a calibration on first start.

3. All new devices come with the pre-loaded content

4. Games, Calendar, Calculator and Dictionaries come installed. What else woudl you liek to install?

5. Of course. But dont delete them you may want them later. Just move them off the reader and save them on your home computer.

6. USB. The Russian review mentioned there nto being away (yet) to synch via bluetooth that way. Of course, you are able to organize your library right on the device without being connected.

7. Both mount and are seen by the computer

8. None that I've heard of, others may have more knowledge on the subject

9. I believe the first dimensions to be correct but do not have the weight for the 903.

I dont have the answer here whether the new PocketBook devices support greater than 32GB. I know Sandisk is actually selling Micro SDHC in 64GB

They are even touting 128 GB microsd hc for next year

Thanks for answering all my questions. I went to the SanDisk page and looked for cards. I didn't see the 64 GB one, but from the price of the 32, I think that it is safe to say that I would not buy it. I'll probably stick to 8GB.

And I thought of another question. If I'm outside, reading, and it starts to rain, I'm obviously going to take cover, but would I have to do anything in particular to protect the reader?

WOW!!

I haven't been keeping up to date on MR for the past few months, but I just checked up on some of the PB threads and came across the new line of PB reader models - and all I can say is WOW!

What a great selection of devices - slick, stylish, great prices and packed with features! Makes me wonder why anyone would waste their time with Sony or Kindle.

I just got an iPad (not for eBooks as such) but looks like I'll have to get myself a new PB soon as well.

Keep up the great work at PocketBook - great products, great support - I recommend them to everyone who asks about my reader. Cheers!

Just had a look at the UK page and noticed a bronze kind of colour to the readers in the photos of the 602/603/902/903 devices. Is this meant to be light grey? And will the non-3G models have this colour as well (602/902) - I don't want 3G, but I like this colour!

well you woudn't want to immerse it in water or leave it in a downpour but a few drops wont hurt anything.

I was wrong, the only 64GB SD HC cards i can find looking just now are standard size not micro.

Sorry, this particular colour is only available for 3G devices right now. We might make a special series though if the demand is really high.

Saying that the deliveries are intended for the 4th week of November doesn't seem right to me. The 25th is a Thursday, so the best you can hope for is to make deliveries in the 5th week / beginning if December.

So PocketGoods decided not to show his avatar around this side of the forums since the time that he said that everything was on schedule.
The website, pocketgoods.de states that there is a short 10 days delay for the new models. But that is true only for the 603/903 models. According to the dates and 1st grade math skills there is actually a 14 days delay for the 602 white & black, 902 white and IQ models, and a 19 days delay for the 902 black model.

Still, for the models that are supposed to be available next Monday to actually be there, they should be on their way to Germany by now, or at least they should be ready to be sent.
Should I consider that no news is bad news?

For Europe:

The 602, 902 and IQ models are nearly on schedule and will be shipped 15.11. The 603/903 will be shipped a little later (10 days or so)

-PDF-Support A4 PDF documents, for example my review with pictures as export from open office,
-speed to change letters in the e-book,
-display of graphics/pictures,
-zoom in/out, speed of that,
-search for words, mark some words, dictionary,
-a public domain print out on normal paper vs. e-ink-display,
-the same e-ink vs. 24" LCD
-reading with brighter or dark lightning,
-text to speak,
-try my Sanyo power booster,
-compatiblity usb-default power supply,

Is it Pocketbook policy to sell hardware before the ready software is available? They did so with the PB302 and I am still awaiting the promised firmware. Rumour has it, the PB302 will never be updated to what it was promised to be. As for these new models, I think some kind of warning is not inappropriate! Pocketbook might fail to deliver a stable firmware again (as is apparently the case for the PB302).

4. Final version 15.3 for 360 and 301 +
5. Third final version for new models
6. Beta version for 302
7. Fourth final version for new models
8. Final version 15.3 for 302

PB is now at step 3. It will take some time to get the final version for the 302, but they will get there eventually.
