The ASUS has some pretty ugly icons slapped on it, which does not bode well for attention to detail, IMO.

To boot, SiPix just sucks compared to the Pearl screens from eInk, so other than touch, I don't see the appeal of this thing.

do you have any experience with those? anyway, if that would be true, you can just simply keep the thing on at least during a day or just 24/7 - without any add-ons running in the background it should not consume too much energy if any....
