I personally hate the 650 'book style' covers and like to use my Reader naked, so the Sony softcase is certainly far from useless to me.

It offers pretty decent protection -- better than the book style cover anyway. I wouldn't mind a hardcase for greater peace of mind, but I'm pretty happy with the Sony softcase.

I really like the blue cover. With a read 650 I'd feel like Superman (not a bad thing )

The blue cover is 350's. The 650 model's cover is black.

Most sleeves are worthless and a waste of money as they are made to fit the reader sans-cover. Stupid people make these crappy sleeves.
I think they did this way to make a single sleeve for both Pocket and Touch edition readers.

Fiammetta, I have to agree with JSWolf:

if you've got a 350, your reader with cover inside the sleeve is a perfect "pair".

Sony 300 owners can buy this sleeve, too. Sony 300 fits perfectly with its cover inside it.

Just an idea: US 650 owners could buy Daily Edition zip case: I have the feeling that Sony Touch 650 model with its cover fits very well in Daily Edition sleeve! Too bad it's not available outside USA...

Regarding the green 350 cover: it's a hidden item (quite strange, I know...)

You have to put a 350 reader in your basket. Then they show you which accessories you can buy for it; purchase the cover, now; remove the reader from your basket and buy the cover!

Quite odd!!

Green 350 cover and white 650 cover are available on Sony UK and European websites now. Better late than never.

Sure the sleeve will protect the reader while the reader is in the sleeve. But you get no protection at all when reading or the reader is out of the sleeve. The best solution is to get a cover and deal. It's going to give your reader some protection in case of dropping or putting something on top of the reader.
