I was surprised as well, they've got a dedicated site for ebooks. Not a truly great selection, but we're definitely being well covered in the UK

*eta* - it was the easy choice of suppliers (as well as the look of the device) that swayed me towards the PRS-350 over the kindle. Not to mention that for 99% of operations I really wouldn't have use for the keyboard.

I tried out the 350 and 650 today at Borders. They feel very light compared to the, but the page turn is practically instantaneous, and I loved turning by swiping my thumb at the corner. The screen is much clearer than the 600, and much brighter than the 505. I tried out the font sizes, from XS to XL. I think I would have bought one if they had red in stock. I'm trying to hold out and see if there are any Black Friday deals.

If you order from www.abt.com by 10/30 you get a lighted cover for free. They have the red 650 and red lighted cover in stock.

Since the cover is free, buy the reader then sell the cover on ebay. The standard cover should be available for purchase as well.

I received my 650 sony cover today, and I think the build quality is superb. I can't say the same for protection though, think of it like your usual journal cover, albeit hardened.

And now waiting for the reader... hopefully a week for now it gets shipped..

I received PRS-650 yesterday. Waiting for cover now.
It looks nice. Although, I was so tired that didn't have energy to play with it. I charged it using a USB charger that was a part of logitech wireless mouse kit. It charged the reader from 3 to 4 bars and red light disappeared. Did it charge it or damage the battery? No idea.

Screen's background is exactly the same shade of grey as 505. 1:1.
The black is a bit blacker and the text looks a bit sharper. Otherwise no difference.
Touch screen is very responsive.

However, I still am not sure whether I should keep it or not. £200+, when my PRS-505 is working. The only attraction is dictionary.
I have 21 day to return it back to Waterstones. We will see.

Fits snugly and looking better! It is getting colder everyday here and I absolutely glad I don't need to feel the cold steel in my hands.

This is my first ereader and I played with it a little.. absolutely loved it! The build quality.. the responsiveness of the display (I tried a K3 before and thought this one's a bit more responsive)..

I have a blackberry charger and right now charging, for the next 8 hours - first charge.

As expected, the eink display refreshes made it can't keep up with handwritten notes, but not as bad as I think it would be. Normal speed and it only flipping pixels 3 mm behind.
The touch is great, but I do experience few times dictionary popping out when I swipe to change page. Practice makes perfect..
Anyone giving their reader protective screen? I see some smudges. I think I pressed unnecessarily on menus and stuff.

Noticing a lot of ppl are charging their new 650's with BB chargers or other similar chargers that fit the slot - is this ok to do. It would make life easier . . . Love for a techie to tell me - but not in techie speak!!!!
Will post a pic of my tuf luv pink leather cover when I get it in the next week or so. They do black and saddleback for those that think pink is yuk!
