Suggestion for Sony

I don't know if anyone at Sony follows things here at MR, but I'd like to make a suggestion for a future firmware upgrade to the new line of readers. Instead of the cumbersome procedure of using Options, Go To, Previous View, simply add a Back arrow to the status bar. This would take no additional screen real estate and be infinitely easier to use.

what screen are you in? Most views have a Go Back arrow in the upper left, in the title bar.

Or holding down the Options button for 2 seconds will do the same job.

I guess I wasn't clear. I'm not talking about when you are in some configuration or options screen, where there is indeed a back arrow on screen. I'm talking about when you click on a link that jumps you elsewhere in a document. In this case, the only way to return is the cumbersome procedure mentioned in my original post. Certainly, Sony can make this easier for us by displaying a back arrow on the status bar after you have clicked on a link.

i'd agree this would be a nice feature.

I have a suggestion of my own, if I can piggy-back it here:

"by drawing" and "by keyboard" should also be icons on the status bar, so you can hit them directly there after you highlight (rather than go thru the extra dialog box that says "by drawing/by keyb" every single time.

Status bar seems underused; there's a lot of real estate there for context-sensitive buttons to appear like that.

Flash the Russian firmware and you can program one of the buttons to go back to the previous page in the history if you hold it for 2 seconds.

Sony only released a FW update for the 505 once to make more files compatible with the reader. They never released another update for any other model so far to add functionality.
Why would they start now for the new line of readers???

The only options you have is a FW hack like the russification or such.

PRS *50 Buttons

I also want the new PRS´s buttons edited:

(from left to right)

instead of
(Prev. Page)
(Next Page)
(Home)
(Magnify)
(Options)

they should be:
(OK/Yes)
(No/Back)
(Home/Options)
(Prev. Page/ Down)
(Next Page/ Up)

And they could be bigger (using all the black area below the screen)
and easier to press.

The Bookmarks should be easier to find.

++++1

user shouldnt have to move hands from bottom of reader if they dont want to. The above buttons would allow that.
