People mentioned the MR books to you, but you're new enough that you might not have found your way around. The books available here are at https://www.mobileread.com/forums/ebo...&sort=dateline. If you look over to the right on that page, you'll see "Full List" with two links next to that. That gives a list to search for a specific author or title. They're all public domain, but the ones posted here tend to have the best formatting and have often been well scrubbed for errors. The books that come with the device are also public domain, but are often full of scanning errors etc.

The reader comes with some charge on the battery, but it's best to fully charge it before you start playing with it.
