I decided to skip "Cabinet of Curiosities" for now and have started (finally) "Sleight Malice" by Vicki Tyley. I really enjoyed "Thin Blood" and I have a feeling I will enjoy this one too

I'm 1/3 of the way in Cutting for Stone.. This is a fantastic book... I'm so glad I still have 2/3 to go...

I'm still reading through the Omnibus of Sherlock Holmes, some very well written short stories - by my reckoning I'm about half-way through.

I managed to finish Fingersmith by Sarah Waters despite a hectic week at work. This is not a book I would pick up in a bookstore, and historical fiction is not a genre I like to read. But my mom recommended it to me a couple of times, so I decided to give it a try. I'm really glad I did, I liked it a lot ! There were some surprising plot twists that kept the story interesting.

Next up: Dragonfly Falling, the second book in the Shadows of the Apt series by Adrian Tchaikovsky.

No I've not come across that one. The book I read, years ago, was The Martian Chronicles.

and since you got me on a bradbury train... I pulled out my copy of "The Stories of Ray Bradbury" and just checked the wikipedia site which contains this:

Bradbury graduated from Los Angeles High School in 1938 but did not attend college. Instead, he sold newspapers at the corner of South Norton Avenue and Olympic Boulevard. In regard to his education, Bradbury said:

"Libraries raised me. I don’t believe in colleges and universities. I believe in libraries because most students don’t have any money. When I graduated from high school, it was during the Depression and we had no money. I couldn’t go to college, so I went to the library three days a week for 10 years."[8]

It was in UCLA's Powell Library, in a study room with typewriters for rent, in which Bradbury wrote his classic story of a book-burning future, "Fahrenheit 451."

Just finished reading "Digger's Bones." I think it's got potential, but, as many others I've reviewed, needs editing!!! Review

I really hope the next book on my list doesn't need as much editing, I'd rather review the story than the mechanics of the story!
