Don't worry too much. He's just publicly showing his own immaturity. He is likely so full of his own importance at the moment to even realise he may have put other people's noses out of joint.

He may be great at guitar, but fails on maths* and demographics.

Total US Military personnel, including coast guard, national guard and reserves: about 2.3 million.

Total US population of military age (say 18-45): about 55 million. Even removing women (can't serve in all areas of the military) and gays (aren't allowed to serve), that must be well over 20 million.

He's just called the vast majority of the American population un-American.

*OK, since he's American, make that math and demographics.

Well, a couple of weeks back I was having issues where my wireless connectivity would just go away. I'd have to reset my router to get it back. That seemed to eventually go away but then for the last couple of days I've been having "dropouts" - I listen to music on line and it would just stop and then (sometimes, sometimes not) restart. The same sort of behavior with websites/pages as well, sometimes they would not load (or be really slow) and other times work fine. I updated the software in my router (D-Link Dir655) but no evident change. When I'd reset the Router it would seem to be better for a bit and then start in again with the dropouts......so.......I came to the conclusion that the wireless router was likely bad. I stopped at MicroCenter and agonized over whether to get the same router, a more expensive one or a different brand....ended up buying the same one and brought it home. Figured I'd get on line and see it happen, then swap out the routers..... well.....not one dropout since yesterday afternoon....I have not even taken the new router out of the shopping bag. Seems pretty clear at this point that it was friggin' COMCAST again!

I know a man who, when younger, did everything possible to avoid the draft. When they called him up, he made plans to head for Canada. He was almost out the door when the Army sent someone to his house to get him.

You should hear him these days. My, how he rags on draft-dodgers!

Wish I knew that was happening, I'd have saved you the trip.

We had the EXACT same problem for about a week. Finally last Sunday I called and they said they'd send someone the next day. Got up the next morning and everything was fine; guy showed up and told Shel everything was fixed that morning, something higher up was going on which caused it after a number of people called in with this "strange behavior".

That said, check the hardware revision of the newer 655; if it's B1 or later it'll get the firmware to enable IPv6, revs. A1 to A4 (i.e. mine) won't. Keep the new one and Fleabay the old one, or keep it as a switch; they're still damn fast, especially wireless.

Is counterattacking an attack an attack against the attacker?
Or is it just tactless?
What if the attack involves tacks?
Can you counterattack a tack attack?
Can you counterattack a tack attack with tacks?
Is it good tactics or just tacky?
How many tacks can an attacker tack if an attacker could tack tacks?
How about Tic Tacs?
A Tic Tac attack would be a new tack.
Tic Tac attack counterattacked with Tic Tacs.
What about Tic Tac Toe attacks.
You need different tactics to counterattack a Tic Tac Toe attack.
Which would be a Tic Tac Toe counterattack.
What about bric a brac attacks?
Attack with slacks?
Fanny packs?
Tire jacks?
Bernie Mac?
Roberta Flack?
Are sidewalk cracks considered attacks?
So many tacks, so few facts.
I should fax a request for facts on all the tacks taken in attacks to learn the tactics of counterattacks.
A fax attack.
And that's a fact, Jack.

I haven't the slightest idea why the higher-end 655 with Gig-E and a 3x3 antenna array (big fat G performance) didn't come with IPv6 but the cheaper, lower-end 615 does.

I'm not worried about any end-of-the-internet scenarios as I can just use my 615 as a router and the 655 as a managed switch but I'm on the lookout for a cheap SFF box like the earlier Dell Craptiplex to do a Linux router project; I already have a pair of Gig-E cards for the job.

Fabulous!

My temp is great, holding at about 103, spiking to 105 randomly.
The shiverings a fitch.
But I'm maintaining status quo.
I can see Reality from here, slightly below me and just left of near.
NyQuil sucks. My tongue is blue.
Vodka is better.
Carpet needs a mowing.
I stopped nodding out.
Everything is stll yellowy.
Like viewing the world from inside a glass of urine.
At least it's clear.
And I haven't seen the little black things running around since about 5 a.m.
Ain't seen Petrush though.
Gonna go for a crawl and look for him.
